Why not try these activities to help you get up to speed with understanding yourself and the skills you have? You can then be in a good position to show others how you may be of value to them. Each activity has a particular purpose with a link either to an activity or to a website for further guidance.
Career Action Planner
The Career Action Planner spans a three-year undergraduate degree. It suggests career considerations and actions you might take at different points in the year and term.
Competencies Assessment Exercise
This exercise helps you to assess your proficiency in, and enjoyment of, the skills which employers are likely to look for as part of their recruitment process.
Qualities Assessment Exercise
The Qualities Assessment Excercise helps you to identify your personal qualities and give employers the evidence to back up your claims. Why not ask a friend to assess your qualities too?

A lifeline exercise aims to help you see and interpret patterns in your life by building a comprehensive overview of your experiences.

Once you've registered to use the Prospects Planner, you can use it to:
- Identify what you want out of a job; generate new job ideas and check out your existing ones.
- Find out what motivates you in a job; identify your skills and what you can offer to the job/employer.

SWOT your personal skills
A SWOT analysis aims to help you examine your skills in a context of Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats and this will increase your ability to plan your career preparation.
Values Assessment Exercise
This activity helps you to define what is truly important to you! Revisit it periodically to see if your values have changed.
